Jonathan RuckertOn the eve of representing Australia in global Microsoft awards, Adelaide-based business technology specialist Oconics has seen its flagship www.sa.gov.au website win a major e-Government award.

Two nights before boarding a plane for the US to attend the Microsoft Partner Conference in Washington DC, Oconics CEO Jonathan Ruckert saw the SA Government website developed by his company collect the Australian Information Industry Association's South Australian e-government award.

The www.sa.gov.au, which has handled hundreds of thousands of visitors a month since it was launched in the middle of last year, is a plain language entry point to a myriad of public sector services.

Oconics Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Ruckert said the AIIA e-government award for www.sa.gov.au was a great departure gift. “We’ve always believed it’s a great site and this award confirms that,” he said. “It is a terrific encouragement that the SA Government has received this award for the www.sa.gov.au website from the AIIA.”

In a separate success, Oconics is the only Australian finalist for the Microsoft Partner Awards in the Information Worker Solutions, Office Business Application Partner of the Year award category.  Mr. Ruckert is attending the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, which is running in Washington DC from July 11-15.

Mr. Ruckert said Oconics’ success in reaching the finals of in the Microsoft Partner Awards was an acknowledgment that its business solutions were world class. “We’re proud to hold the flag for Australia at this global forum,” he said.

The Microsoft Awards are presented in a number of categories, with winners and finalists chosen from a pool of almost 3000 entrants worldwide. The Information Worker Solutions, Office Business Application Partner of the Year Award recognises partners who have excelled in offering a breakthrough solution by integrating with the Office client or an Office SharePoint interface to a line-of-business application.

This award recognises Oconics for helping its customers connect people, applications, and partners while delivering excellent total cost of ownership. Oconics has uniquely and positively affected its customers’ business challenges through its expertise in the Information Worker Solutions competency.
