AXIMComAustralia’s specialist broadband distributor PC Range has launched a new range of powerful and high quality routers which simplify using P2P (Peer-to-Peer) applications over 3G mobile broadband.

As increasing competition puts downward pressure on prices for wireless data services, PC Range has inked an exclusive agreement with Taiwan-based networking expert AXIM Communications Inc. (AXIMCom) to sell its full range of routers in Australia.

PC Range Managing Director Raaj Menon said 3G data services would become much more mainstream and affordable during the coming year. “We see this as a booming part of the market as ISPs increasingly offer 3G data-only services,” he said.

“The key to success will be reliability. Flaky access and crashing routers won’t cut it. We’ve put the AXIMCom routers through extensive tests in Australia, accessing a range of service providers, and we’re very impressed with the results.”

AXIMCom’s 3G Router Series not only supports 802.11n wireless protocol, but also supports HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) to increase mobile bandwidth up to 21Mbps, which greatly exceeds the speed of both current 3G/3.5G service and WiMAX.

With HSPA+ 21Mbps service now available from Telstra, along with AXIMCom’s support for a complete range of 3G USB modems and ISPs, AXIMCom 3G routers stand out from competing products. As well as Telstra wireless data services, the routers have been tested successfully with Optus, Vodafone and 3.

Distinctive features of AXIMCom’s P2P GEAR PRO Series include Green Download and File Sharing functionality, which allow users to download files or share files without needing to turn on the PC.

Other unique features of AXIMCom products provide true power, performance, and reliability: These include the patent-pending technology iDBM (Intelligent Bandwidth Management), TurboNAT, Session Manager, and MRTG Monitoring:

  • iDBM adjusts bandwidth allocation automatically on-the-fly according to the applications running in the network. It is able to guarantee a stable, smooth, and efficient network sharing environment regardless of the circumstance or usage scenario
  • TurboNAT can increase NAT (Network Address Translation) throughput to 95Mbps – 225 per cent faster than traditional NAT
  • Session Manager uses fast-recycling ability to support at least 7500 sessions, thus always maintaining the stability of the router
  • MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher) provides ease of network management with its throughput and session statistics.

PC Range is initially launching three models from AXIMCom’s Mobile Router Series and P2P GEAR PRO Series, with more models expected before the end of the year
