Internode managing director Simon HackettBroadband trailblazer Internode today announces that it will launch an Early Adopter program offering access to its FetchTV IPTV service by the end of September.

This early adopter access will allow a select group of keen Internode customers using its Extreme or NakedExtreme ADSL2+ services to get their hands on this brilliant service ahead of the crowd.

FetchTV is a new and unique subscription-TV service that offers the full range of Free-to-Air digital channels; twenty leading subscription channels including six Video on Demand (VOD) channels; thirty included movies every month, access to new-release pay-per-view movies from major movie studios, five specialty subscription channels and great interactive applications and games.

FetchTV has a host of content partnerships with premium providers. The line-up of linear subscription channels includes CNBC Australia, BBC World News, National Geographic, Nat Geo Adventure, Discovery Turbo, Discovery Home & Health, Discovery Travel & Living, Discovery Science, Animal Planet, E! Entertainment Television, and MTV Music Television.

The movie offering includes 30 movies available on demand at any time from Roadshow Entertainment, Warner, Disney Media Distribution and MGM, in addition to access to a pay-per-view library of new-release and classic movies from the main movie studios.

Also included in the FetchTV basic subscription are applications to access key features of leading interactive and social media applications including Facebook,Twitter and Wiki.

Internode will deliver FetchTV to a customer's TVs via a standard broadband connection and a FetchTV Set Top Box (STB). It is available in broadcast quality (including HD) and is unmetered meaning it does not impact on download limits. The STB includes a one terabyte hard drive, three digital tuners (to record two and watch a third channel), true HD capability, 3D compatibility and the ability to pause, rewind and record live TV.

Participation in Internode’s Early Adopter program will be at the normal ‘rental’ price for the service, $99 setup and just $29.95 per month, including supply of the High Definition FetchTV STB.

A ‘Lite’ version of the FetchTV service, offering a subset of the programming at a lower cost and wider geographic availability, will become available about a month into the Early Adopter access period.

Internode customers can register their interest via the Internode link on the FetchTV home page at www.fetchtv.com.au. Full details about the program will be provided to registered customers when the Early Adopter trial is launched, toward the end of September.

Internode managing director Simon Hackett said: “The FetchTV Early Access trial will let keen customers help Internode to ‘road test’ the service and our support for it, ahead of the doors being opened to all eligible Internode customers later in the year".

“We’ve had a lot of interest since we announced our intention to work with FetchTV earlier this year, so we expect this early adopter program to attract strong participation from our customers who are as keen as we are to make this service a wonderful addition to their Internode broadband services.”

FetchTV CEO Scott Lorson said Internode’s commitment to great value and innovative services for customers positioned it as an ideal partner for FetchTV. “We’re delighted to partner with Internode on this early adopter program and look forward to a full commercial deployment later this year,” he said.
