National broadband company Internode has opened a Brisbane office to accelerate its strong growth rate which saw Queensland contribute nearly 15 per cent of its revenues in the past financial year.
Internode has opened its Adelaide Street office to provide corporate customers with on-the-ground expertise about the company’s range of business-grade services. As well as Business ADSL2+ broadband services, these include Private IP (Internet Protocol) networks, synchronous (SHDSL) Internet access services and, increasingly, Cloud-based services such as Virtual Private Servers. Internode is kicking off its Brisbane office with four staff, comprising two business development managers, a pre-sales engineer and a sales support/office administration person. The new office is located at 215 Adelaide Street, above Brisbane’s Central train station. Internode national sales manager Daryl Knight said the Brisbane office was intended to open doors. “Queensland is already a major market for Internode, so this is about taking it to the next level,” he said. |

National broadband trailblazer Internode has connected its first school, Circular Head Christian School, to Tasmania’s NBN Stage One program with a 100 megabit-per-second fibre-optic broadband service.
Since Internode connected it to the NBN last month, the evangelical Christian school at Smithton has seen massive increases in its Internet access speeds. This improved performance opens up the potential for students to use videoconferencing as well as the introduction of “virtual classroom” technology. Circular Head Christian School Principal Patrick Bakes said the NBN fibre-optic service meant that staff and students were no longer limited by the Internet connection during peak times. “We can have up to 150 students on the Internet at once, which our NBN connection handles with ease,” he said |

National broadband company Internode has revised its range of ADSL2+ plans, delivering greater value to more people by aligning Optus-delivered Ultra services with its competitively priced Extreme plans.
Headlining the changes is the launch of Internode’s UltraBundle, an ADSL2+ and analogue voice bundle. Home-UltraBundle plans cost from $59.90 with a 10GB (gigabyte) data quota to $99.90 for 100GB per month. By aligning Ultra prices with its Extreme Broadband services up to 100GB, Internode is offering customers better value over a wider area, via Optus’ 300+ ADSL2+ equipped telephone exchanges. Internode has also aligned prices for NakedUltra plans to its NakedExtreme services. Home plans cost from $49.95 per month for a Naked ADSL2+ service with 10GB data quota up to $109.90 for 100GB. For heavy downloaders, Internode has also lopped $50 from the price of its 240GB quota Internode Extreme and NakedExtreme plans. A Home-Extreme-240 plan costs just $89.95 per month when bundled with a NodeLine telephone service while a Home-NakedExtreme-240 service costs $109.95. Internode product manager Jim Kellett said the plan overhaul was to maintain Internode’s competitive position in the market. “We reckon these revised plans offer great value to our customers,” he said. |
