Intelligent Software's Don PeruginiSA-based artificial intelligence specialist Intelligent Software has moved its head office from Technology Park Adelaide to the Tomorrow Studio in the city’s central business district.

Located at Level 1, 193 Wakefield Street in Adelaide’s famous square mile, the Tomorrow Studio is a technology incubator and innovation hub for companies in the simulation and digital media space. The Tomorrow Studio is supported by the SA Government’s economic development agency, the Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED).

Intelligent Software director Don Perugini said the new office had plenty of room for expansion. “The central city provides us with a better location as most of our potential clients are here,” he said.

“Our new office provides good professional facilities such as board room, meeting room and a ‘games room’ for companies developing computer and serious games.  The facility is also very good for collaboration and synergies as most companies located there have specialised and complementary capabilities.

“For example, our AI capability is in realistic simulation environments outside of graphics while Holopoint has great 3D/simulation graphical capabilities that we can benefit from. There are also companies that create websites and flash animation, such as Digital Lamb, so I think it will provide a lively and collaborative environment.”

Intelligent Software Development Pty Ltd has drawn on expertise from the defence industry to use Artificial Intelligence technologies to create realistic virtual models of cities for strategic planning and forecasting purposes. Intelligent Software’s AI simulation models elements of a city to allow “what-if” scenarios that assist with strategic planning and demand forecasting. It can also analyse the impact that proposed strategic decisions, infrastructure and policy will have on the population’s behaviour, including demand, spending and consumption.

Intelligent Software’s founders, Dr. Don Perugini and Dr. Michelle Perugini, come from defence and health backgrounds. Drawing parallels between complex problems in defence and health, and the commercial arena, Intelligent Software’s founders identified commercial opportunities and an urgent market need in financial and environmental sustainability, which they could address with their company’s powerful simulation application, SimulAIt.
