Australia’s Groundhog Software is winning international sales with its just-launched iPhone app that quickly and easily tracks, shares and compares key statistics on tennis player performance. Tennis Stats for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch allows players, parents and coaches to collect, review and share quality tennis match statistics with one simple-to-use app. Launched to coincide with this month’s Australian Open Tennis Championships in Melbourne, the $9.99 Tennis Stats app will cost just $5.99 until the Australian Open is over. Tennis Stats uses the iPhone and iPod Touch to provide simple yet comprehensive player profiling, match recording and statistical analysis. Designed to meet the respective needs of players, parents and coaches, the easy-to-use app has a unique match-sharing capability that makes it ideal for coaches with touring players. Groundhog Software CEO Grant Steinberg said he had come up with the idea for Tennis Stats when his own daughter had played competitive tennis. “When I was a tennis parent, I couldn’t find a program that made it easy to track and compare player stats,” he said.
“When the iPhone came along, I thought ‘the iPhone is perfect for this’, so we developed the app, which Apple approved for its AppStore within 48 hours. While other tennis apps are available, this is the easiest to use, making it ideal for anyone from parents to coaches. With sales already growing in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, we’re offering the $5.99 launch price during the Australian Open to create as much awareness as possible.” For more information about Groundhog Software’s Tennis Stats app, visit www.groundhog.com.au/tennis.
