Enterprise software specialist Groundhog has made three new appointments that boost its ability to deliver major projects, defying the negative economic outlook nationally.
Recent recruits by the Adelaide-based company include Jeff Nightingale to the role of Solutions Architect, Wayne Psaila as Web Developer/Designer and Satinder Pal as a Software Developer.
Groundhog Software CEO Grant Steinberg said Jeff, Wayne and Satinder each brought significant and diverse skills, with military, national and international experience respectively. "We have hired these new people in order to meet the strong demand for our unique custom software development solutions," he said.
"We work very hard to identify talented individuals that bring diversity, balance and passion in order to ensure they make a positive contribution to the culture of our company."
Groundhog Software employs 20 people to develop and deploy software that equips its customers to achieve their business goals. The company has delivered projects for iconic South Australian organisations including the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of South Australia Inc, Bianco Construction Supplies, Lifeplan Funds Management, Elders, Santos and Advertiser Newspapers.
Jeff Nightingale has more than 10 years experience in project leadership, system architecture and software design. He has experience designing and implementing many types of systems across a broad range of domains including banking and finance, transport and defence.
As Groundhog's Solutions Architect, Jeff ensures that customer requirements are met through applying the best practice software development methodologies and appropriate technologies.
Wayne Psaila is a highly accomplished 18-year veteran of the graphic design industry. He has successfully worked with high profile clients including Sass + Bide, The Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Formula 1, Honda, Tourism Australia, Arnotts, Telstra, ANZ and the Australian Government in both online media and print.
Satinder Pal has more than five years of software development experience at almost all levels of programming. This includes low level structural programming in C, embedded C cross compiled for micro-controllers, C dealing directly with firmware (for HP PA-RISC platforms) and high level object oriented programming in C++ and Java.
Mr. Steinberg said he believed the current economic volatility presented Groundhog with opportunities as organisations sought to extract more value from their business systems. "With the uncertain economic outlook, businesses have the motivation to extract greater efficiencies from their business systems to improve profitability," he said.
"Using a range of advanced software approaches, such as Service-Oriented Architecture, Business Process Management, Web 2.0 and mobile toolsets, we design business systems that improve efficiencies and drive down costs."
