Billion BiPAC 7800NLeading consumer tech reviews site CNET Australia has presented the Billion BiPAC 7800N router with a “Best of 2010” award that praises its performance, features and value-for-money.

In its September 2010 review of the BiPAC 7800N, CNET Australia described the router as a solid base for your ADSL2+ network with great wireless throughput. CNET, which said the BiPAC 7800N tested well against all of its three wireless chipsets, praised the “highly featured” device for offering gigabit Ethernet ports, an extra WAN port and the ability to set up Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).

CNET (www.cnet.com.au) bills itself as Australia's number one dedicated consumer technology news and reviews site (Nielsen Market Intelligence, March 2011). The CNET Australia Best of 2010 award acknowledges excellence among products reviewed by the CNET Australia team during 2010, recognising the "best of the best" products in consumer tech based on a number of criteria including design, function and price.

CNET said competition for these awards was fierce, with the Billion BiPAC 7800N – which now has an RRP of just $209 – deemed the best in its class by the CNET Australia editorial team.

Billion routers are distributed through the national reseller network of Australian specialist broadband technology distributor PCRange

PCRange CEO Raaj Menon said he was delighted that the Billion BiPAC 7800N had received the “Best of 2010” award from CNET. “Our customers obviously agree because the 7800N was our best-selling router ever,” he said.

“What’s driven demand is the 7800N has everything the consumer wants. It supports ADSL2+ and FTTH services outside the home and wireless N and gigabit networking inside: It’s the perfect package.”

As well as ADSL2+ support, the Billion 7800N has an Ethernet WAN (E-WAN) port, an extra port that links to an external cable or fibre modem, providing Fibre-to-the-Home access as it becomes available.

For local area networks in the home, the Billion BiPAC 7800N supports Wireless N networking as well as a built-in four-port gigabit switch, which makes it the ideal device for a home with multiple computers and high bandwidth requirements.
