Jeff ZhangSmall business specialist Calvert Technologies has continued the growth momentum of moving to its new office with another technical recruit and a complete overhaul of its web presence.

Calvert has appointed Jeff Zhang to the role of Technical Consultant, with responsibility for providing a mix of both remote/helpdesk support plus in-the field technical services.  He will also be part of Calvert’s extended hours coverage, which provides support from 8am to 6pm weekdays, giving Adelaide businesses the extended support they increasingly need.

Jeff previously worked as an IT consultant for Adelaide-based Creydall Sytems, where he set up and upgraded domain network environments for small and medium-sized businesses, built virtual environment system and was involved in Disaster Recovery planning, documentation and testing.

Jeff, who was born in China, adds to the multicultural mix at Calvert where the company’s ethnic cocktail already contains  Hungarian, Polish, Rumanian, Welsh, Vietnamese – as well as founder Dean Calvert’s Irish roots.

Dean Calvert, an internationally recognised expert on Microsoft’s Small Business Server technology, said this latest appointment brought his company’s technical support team to six. “Jeff brings a great knowledge of networks to our team, including plenty of hands-on Cisco experience,” he said.

“We’ve also revamped our website at www.calvert.net.au so that it better integrates with our business systems, making it easier to maintain and more relevant to our customers.  I’ve also created a company Twitter account @calverttech, making it easier for customers to stay in touch.

“We’ve experienced record demand since the Global Financial Crisis, so we’re investing some of that  extra turnover into strengthening our human resources and making sure the technical resources, such as our website, are up to date and supporting the company’s growth trajectory.”

Calvert Technologies is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and has been a Microsoft Australia Partner of the Year Finalist every year from 2007 to 2010. Dean Calvert is also a contributing author of the book Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 Unleashed (SAMS Publishing).
