The great new pocket router from PCRange

Australian broadband equipment distributor PCRange has launched a trio of pocket-sized devices that can deliver wireless networking, easy data storage, an Internet gateway - and even recharge your mobile phone!

Available as the DROIDAX TravelBro, PADACS Voyager and Minitar Pocket Router, these $69.95 devices are the perfect companion for the business traveller by guaranteeing on-the-go networking and storage.

Able to fit in your jacket pocket, the ultra-portable AC-powered 150Mbps Wi-Fi wireless router is a plug-and-play device that can act as a battery charger, storage device, an access point, wireless client, repeater, bridge or wireless router.

The pocket router can allow any device on its wireless network to access the Internet when a 3G wireless dongle is plugged into the unit’s USB port.

Raaj Menon, the CEO of broadband distributor PCRange and founder of both PADACS and DROIDAX, said the pocket router was “a truly plug and play wireless router” that delivered an amazing range of functionality. “This is the first device I’ve seen that packs so much value into such a small package,” he said.

“It’s a portable WiFi router, it lets you add data storage through a microSD card slot, it includes a 4200 mAh battery which can recharge your smartphone or iPad and you can even use it as an Internet gateway with a 3G dongle - all for just $69.95. There’s nothing to match this in Australia.”

Raaj said he was launching the pocket router in Australia under multiple brands to give customers the choice. ‘Whether it’s an iPhone fan buying PADACS, an Android user choosing DROIDAX or someone else selecting Minitar, they all get the same great device backed by our support,” he said.

The pocket router measures 57 x 43 x 28 mm (W x D x H), supports the 802.11b/g/n wireless protocols on the  2.4-2.4835GHz frequency and contains a built-in omni-directional antenna. The device can work with Microsoft Windows 98SE, NT, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7, MAC OS, NetWare, UNIX and Linux.
