iDevice accessories specialist PADACS today announces Rapid Charge, a faster-charging power cable that enables Windows-powered USB ports to recharge Apple iPads just as easily as iPods or iPhones.

Standard charging cables only allow data syncing between iPads and Windows PCs, so Windows users have previously required an Apple power block to recharge their iPad.

Costing just $19.95, the PADACS Rapid Charge cable now allows Windows users to recharge their iPad while on the move from a Windows computer-powered USB port. Rapid Charge can also recharge Apple iOS devices 25 per cent faster than a standard charging cable.

PADACS CEO Raaj Menon said Rapid Charge’s Windows compatibility and faster recharge rate was ideal for people on the move. “If you need to recharge your iPad in a taxi or on a long flight, the Rapid Charge cable can make all the difference,” he said. 

PADACS’ super-fast USB charging cable also has a convenient colour-coded status light, showing blue for the power-on state with access to data; green for a Rapid Charge Rate (with no data access) and red to display an over-current or high temperature warning.
