Adelaide-based freight company Northline, which employs 400 people nationally, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this week with a sparkling James Bond-themed celebration at the Hyatt Regency.
Northline is a national transport and logistics company that specialises in servicing remote locations throughout the country. The privately-owned business provides a combination of express freight, general freight, warehousing and mine site services throughout Australia.
From its largest Australian depot and distribution centre, at Ferryden Park, north west of the Adelaide CBD, Northline operates long-haul lines to some of the most remote locations in the country, including the NT, Far North Queensland and North West Australia.
More than 300 guests, comprising a Who’s Who of the Adelaide business community, will attend the birthday celebration at the Hyatt Regency on Thursday, November 6. As well as a red carpet welcome by Northline’s “Bond Girls” – a quartet of daughters who have grown up with the company – the event will offer glamour and surprises for each of the guests.
Northline CEO Sean Beaton said the 25th birthday celebration was
intended to thank the company’s customers and staff. “For us, a
highlight of this event is the presence of Northline’s first customer,
Speedy Wheels, which is still a customer,” he said.
“At the basis of these long-term relationships are a deep trust and
mutual respect that have provided the foundation for creating hundreds
of jobs and supporting businesses in remote and metropolitan locations
throughout Australia.”
Northline was established in 1983. As well as maintaining a national
network of state-of-the-art distribution centres – including Perth,
Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Townsville and Darwin – and a large fleet
for vehicles, Northline provides its customers with international
freight services.
Beyond its business success, Northline has also maintained a
long-term commitment to corporate philanthropy by supporting
community-based organisations ranging from Camp Quality and children’s
football clubs in the NT to Adelaide sports organisations such as the
Kensington Cricket Club.
Northline’s investment in youth also extends to running a long-term
graduate program within its operations. Through this program, recent
recruits are shown every step in the Northline freight management
process – effectively following the path of a consignment note – so
they have the opportunity to learn every aspect of the business.
Camp Quality will be a major beneficiary of Northline’s 25th
birthday celebration through a fundraising raffle with prizes donated
by Adelaide fashion house Alexis George, South Australian Fili
Jewellery and the Hyatt Regency Adelaide.
