National broadband trailblazer Internode has continued its pre-Christmas plan overhaul by slashing $10 a month from many of its SOHO broadband plans and launching its first sub-$40 ADSL2+ service.

The $39.95 Home-Extreme-Explorer service, which runs as fast as 24 megabits per second, is the latest initiative from Internode, which is introducing a range of new plans in the lead-up to Christmas.
Demonstrating its value, the new ADSL2+ broadband plan offers the same price and same five-gigabyte monthly download quota as first generation broadband plans running at just half a megabit per second.

Other initiatives announced by Internode today include $59.95 SOHO plans with the same speed and download quota plus a static IP address and high-speed Annex M downloads.
Internode has also carved $10 off the price of most of its current SOHO broadband plans – except SOHO-Extreme and SOHO-NakedExtreme – so they cost just $10 more than Internode Home broadband plans.

Internode product manager Jim Kellett said the new plans and price cuts were an early Christmas present to customers. “The $10 price reduction on most SOHO plans is an automatic bestowal for existing customers from their next billing date, giving small businesses a pre-Christmas gift,” he said.

“The introduction of an entry-level ADSL2+ plan for just $39.95 is another initiative to make high-speed broadband even more affordable for people, especially in these tough economic times.”

Internode’s Extreme broadband services are available from the more than 100 telephone exchanges in WA, SA, Victoria, NSW, Queensland and Tasmania where it has installed its own broadband equipment. Coverage details are available at www.internode.on.net/dslam.

Internode has also introduced NakedExtreme 'New Service Connections', which provide a new way to obtain a dialtone-free broadband service – Internode NakedExtreme ADSL2+ – without the disruption of converting an existing telephone line.
