How accurate is your people-counting system?
Beonic
September 30, 2008

Many retailers are basing business strategy and investment decisions on inaccurate data gained from poorly-calibrated or malfunctioning people counting systems warns industry leader Beonic.

The Melbourne based company, a world leader in people-counting and retail intelligence systems, has launched a new service called Accuracy Counts , which will benefit users of all people counting technology, regardless of the sensor type or manufacturer.

Beonic operations manager Adam Barrow said the Australian marketplace had a wide variety of people counting technologies available. "Regardless of the technology you use to measure your foot traffic, you still need to know how accurately it is performing," he said.

"A surprising number of retailers are basing decisions such as marketing effectiveness or sales conversion results on incorrect or outdated accuracy benchmarks."

Mr. Barrow said most retailers had an accuracy check completed when their system was installed and have not checked it since. "This is despite the fact that retail conditions are continually changing as are people's shopping patterns," he said.

Accuracy Counts is designed to solve that problem. The Beonic-designed system audits your entries and provides a written analysis of the accuracy of every door counter in your stores or centre.

The Accuracy Counts report will provide the following feedback after the visit:

R   Accuracy - How well is your people counting system operating?

R   Reporting - A full report for each entry.

R   Recommendations - Recommend changes to multipliers and layout suggestions.

R   Consultancy - Suggest ideas and strategies on how to improve your accuracy.

R   Interpretation - Turn data into intelligence; make sure you are not missing anything.

Accuracy Counts is designed for a retailer who wants to check or correct the accuracy of any people counting system, not only Beonic's existing clients. Mr. Barrow says "As conditions start to tighten up in the retail sector it is vital that you make Every Visitor Count". For those that are playing it tough, Mr. Barrow goes on to say "there is no better value than knowing whether your marketing dollars are attracting people, measure it and you will know"

Accuracy Counts costs $180 (ex GST) per entry*

There are special prices available for larger retail chains and Shopping Centres. Please contact us on the details below to find out how to regain confidence in your people counting system.
