Australian small business IT specialist Calvert Technologies has continued its growth surge with the appointment of globally-trained technical engineer Puneet Awasthi to its team.
Calvert Technologies is an Adelaide-based company that specialises in providing IT support and consultancy services to small businesses. The Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, which focuses on providing quality solutions that don’t “break the bank”, is currently experiencing record demand.
With a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi University in India, Puneet has built up an extensive track record in IT infrastructure management and IT infrastructure support in the seven years since he graduated.
Puneet’s most recent assignment involved working as a contracted Microsoft Server and Network Engineer on a major Active Directory migration project for South Australia’s Department of Families and Communities.
This was preceded by four years working as a senior systems
specialist for HCL Comnet, a subsidiary of leading global IT services
company HCL Technologies, which employs more than 4600 employees at 30
offices in 15 countries. This role involved a number of IT
infrastructure projects throughout India and in the US.
Puneet moved to Australia earlier this year, motivated by the
combination of professional development opportunities and quality of
life issues for his young family.
Puneet said the role with Calvert Technologies presented a major
opportunity. “I’ve worked in large organisations, both leading a team
and within a team, but this is my first time in small business,” he
said.
“Calvert has a strong reputation for using technology to solve
problems that hold back small businesses, so I’m looking forward to the
opportunity to learn how to apply my skills in this context.”
As well as hands-on experience working with Microsoft’s enterprise
networking technologies, Puneet has completed ITIL foundation training
and worked on ITIL process-oriented projects. ITIL (Information
Technology Infrastructure Library) describes concepts and techniques
for managing information technology infrastructure, development, and
operations.
Calvert Technologies founder and MD Dean Calvert said Puneet brought
a wealth of experience to the company. “Puneet’s deep understanding of
enterprise network issues can help us to examine different approaches
to deployment as the industry moves to a more network-centric model,”
he said.
“As well as learning how we do things, Puneet will be teaching us
from his international experience how large organisations he has worked
with tackle problems that are common throughout the world.”
