Small business IT specialist Calvert Technologies continues
its growth spurt with the appointment of keen amateur chef Michael Todd as
Technical Consultant.
After 13 years in the IT industry, Michael's current role focuses
on taking away the technology pain for small businesses by setting up and
maintaining servers, networks and workstations. Michael's previous positions
include management and consultant roles with companies such as Bakas IT Solutions
and Z-Tek Computer Wholesaler.
Calvert Technologies
is an Adelaide-based company that specialises in providing IT support and
consultancy services to small businesses. The Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, which focuses on providing quality solutions that
don't "break the bank", is currently experiencing record demand.
Michael's appointment brings its head count to seven employees.
Michael said he was enjoying his new job with Calvert. "I
really enjoy the steep learning curves," he said. "If you're not continually
learning new things in the IT industry, you're in danger of becoming a
dinosaur."
.
Calvert Technologies managing director Dean Calvert said
Michael's greatest strength was his understanding of the business value of IT.
"Michael knows how to make the technology work, but more importantly he
understands how to explain it in business terms," he said.
Outside work, Michael's interests include cooking up a storm
in the kitchen - he admits that his alternative career path was as a chef - or fixing
his fleet of radio-controlled model helicopters. As a collector of the compact choppers, he has
learned both to pilot and to repair the expensive models. "A mistake in one
area puts me on the learning curve in the other," he admitted.
