Internode gives Business plans an Extreme makeover
Internode
May 06, 2008

Internode product manager Jim KellettNational broadband innovator Internode has revamped its Business ADSL services by introducing its first sub-$100 ADLS2+ Business plan, greater choice and Internode's largest-ever download quotas.

The extreme makeover for Internode Business ADSL includes Internode's first Business Extreme ADSL2+ plan for less than $100 per month, At $99, the new service carves $51 from the price of the previous entry-level Business Extreme plan, which cost $150 per month.

Internode product manager Jim Kellett said the revamped Business plans reflected Internode's commitment to giving all of its customers more choice.  "It's about increasing the range of Business plans to meet the diverse needs and budgets of our business customers," he said.

"As well as the increased range, Internode has retained the most popular aspects of its Business ADSL plans which include no shaping, priority helpdesk support, Silver Service Level Agreement and 0.5 cents excess - with prices still capped on low-speed plans.

"We have also increased the largest download quotas from 120 gigabytes (GB) to 150 GB, and reduced our entry-level quotas from 40GB to 25GB, which a corresponding drop in entry level price. Significantly, there is a broader range of choices in between."

The Business plan revamp follows recent moves that include slashing download quota excess charges from five cents per megabyte (MB) to 0.5 cents per MB and the introduction of three new Unlimited Download plans. Internode Business ADSL customers can now access a greater range of choice and flexibility, similar to that enjoyed by Internode's HOME and SOHO customers.

As a result, all previous Business ADSL plans - with the exception of the new Unlimited Download plans - will be "grandfathered": That is, retained for existing customers, but not offered to new customers. Existing customers can book an online plan change to take advantage of the new Business ADSL plans.

The range of Internode Business ADSL services cost from:

  • $79 for Business-256-Power25: A 256/64k service with a 25 GB download quota;

  • $99: Business-Extreme-25: An ADSL2+ service with a 25 GB download quota;

  • $109 for Business-1500-Power25: A 1500/256k service with a 25 GB download quota;

  • $109 for Business-512Sym-Power25: A 512/512k symmetrical service with 25 GB download quota;

  • $119 for Business-Plus-25: An up to 8M/384k service with a 25 GB download quota; and

  • $129 for Business-Naked-25: An ADSL2+ service with a 25 GB quota, running on a Naked DSL line.

Additional plans, with larger download quotas, are available within each service level.

Mr. Kellett said these plans would complement the recently announced Business ADSL Standard plans which were "truly unlimited" - completely free of shaping and excess charges. "Download as much as you like and it'll keep going at full line speed, 24x7, for a fixed price," he said.

These Unlimited Download plans comprise:

  1. Business-512-Unlimited ($199 a month) is a 512/128k service with unlimited downloads

  2. Business-512Sym-Unlimited ($229 per month) is a 512/512k plan with unlimited downloads

  3. Business-1500-Unlimited ($299 per month) is a 1500/256k service with unlimited downloads.
