In its
third appearance on the BRW Fast Starters index, information security specialist
CQR Consulting has distinguished itself as the best-ranked South Australian IT company
on the prestigious list.
CQR
Consulting, which grew 68.8 per cent to record a 2007-08 turnover of $2.346 million,
was ranked 56th on the BRW Fast Starters list, putting it well ahead
of the three other SA-based IT companies listed.
Also, CQR, founded in 2004, was the only South Australian company to make a
repeat appearance on the list: It debuted in 2006 and
was again included last year. This year, CQR was one of seven South Australian
firms that appeared on the list.
CQR Consulting delivers independent information security
services, without the need to sell computer hardware, software or other technology
services. The Australian-owned company acts as an "honest broker" for
organisations often caught between the competing claims of incumbent vendors.
The
accolade comes as CQR Consulting continues its national expansion. As well as
its Adelaide
headquarters, the company has branches in Sydney and Melbourne. CQR is also
active in delivering information security services internationally.
CQR
Consulting managing director David Simpson said the company was experiencing
continued growth due to corporate concern about the need to protect critical
information. "Information security is about much more than defending your
network from hacking and viruses," he said.
"Increasingly, organisations are looking to work with a
proven partner that has practical experience identifying areas of information
risk and then remediating those problems. CQR Consulting is ideally positioned
to play that role, which underpins our consistently strong growth rate."
