National broadband company Internode has revised its
NodePhone prices to make it easy for customers of rival broadband providers to
use the high quality voice-over-broadband phone service.
NodePhone effectively turns all of Australia into a local call zone by
using a broadband service to deliver 18-cent untimed calls to any fixed phone
in the country. NodePhone2 is Internode's
two-way service, which allows both incoming and outgoing calls. It
features a flexible and online-configurable voicemail system (including the
capability to send voicemail as email) at no extra cost.
As well as dropping the $20 establishment fee for a NodePhone2
service, Internode has taken the red pen to its NodePhone2 pricing for
non-Internode broadband customers. The NodePhone Value plan drops from $20 to
$10 a month and the Premium Plan, which includes $15 worth of calls, goes from
$30 to $20 a month.
Internode has removed all price differences between
NodePhone services for its own broadband customers and customers of other
broadband providers. Plan change charges are also eliminated.
Internode product manager Jim
Kellett said the revised pricing would accelerate adoption of
NodePhone. "We have more than 14,000 customers using NodePhone at the moment,
but the platform is designed to handle much greater volumes than that," he
said.
"By eliminating price barriers to adoption, we make it easy
for anyone to choose NodePhone, regardless of whether they are an existing
Internode broadband customer or not."
Internode's
price revisions are just the latest enhancement to its NodePhone platform.
