Minitar MVA11A VoIP Analog Terminal Adapter Technology distributor PC Range has launched a $129 device that allows anyone with a broadband service to extend the low cost convenience of Internet-based telephony to their home handsets.

The Minitar MVA11A VoIP Analog Terminal Adapter is a simple device that plugs into your broadband router, allowing you to connect both your computer and a standard telephone handset. Once programmed with your preferred VoIP (Voice of Internet Protocol) telephone service, you can make calls to anywhere in Australia for as little as 10 cents untimed and overseas calls for just a few cents a minute.

The Minitar MVA11A ATA provides great convenience features including Caller ID, Consultation Hold, Call Waiting, Blind Call Transfer, Attended Call Transfer, Call Forwarding and Three-Way Conferencing. The unit is easy to configure through a web interface and can be updated through the handset dial-pad

A valuable capability is Voice over data prioritisation, which ensures a high-quality telephone service.

Raaj Menon, the managing director of Minitar's Australian distributor, PC Range, said the MVA11A offered unbeatable value. "What's the killer about this is its price," he said.

"The MVA11A makes it easy and affordable for anyone with a broadband service to add the low calling costs of VoIP to their setup. The reduction in local and toll costs alone will pay it off in a month or two.

"As well as an ATA (Analogue Telephone Adaptor), which lets a standard phone place calls over the Internet, the MVA11A has a built-in router which reduces the complexity of sharing the service with a computer. It can also fall back to the standard phone service if the power goes off or your broadband is interrupted, so you're never without a phone service."

PC Range will distribute the Minitar MVA11A through its national reseller network in March. Details are available at http://www.pcrange.com.au/where_to_buy.php.
