Leading fashion retailer Just Jeans has migrated to a Shared Services deployment of Empower-HR to pay its employees in both Australia and New Zealand.
The company, which has its Empower-HR application hosted by Empower Masterpay, pays its 700 New Zealand staff each Monday and its 3200 employees in Australia each Tuesday. Just Jeans went live with Empower-HR in July after many years of using the Masterpay payroll service. Just Jeans Payroll Manager Karen Bajada said the migration from Masterpay to Empower-HR had occurred without a hitch. “The transition was brilliant,” she said. “When we moved to the new system, the process was very pleasing. It went really well. We’ve had a few hiccoughs, but Empower has been very responsive in resolving problems.”
Just Jeans is part of the Just Group, the leading specialty apparel retailer in Australia and New Zealand. Born in Chapel St, Prahran in December 1970, the Just Group covers casual clothing through Just Jeans, women's fashion via Jacqui E, Portmans, dotti and the youth market in Jay Jay's. The group also contains the Peter Alexander stores. Shared Services describes the sharing of services by different units within an organisation. Just Jeans maintains separate databases for its employees in New Zealand and Australia because of the differing employment terms and conditions between the two countries.
