CQR wins finals spot for back-to-back Telstra Business Awards
CQR Consulting
July 20, 2007

CQR Consulting MD David SimpsonCQR Consulting, the 2006 South Australian Business of the Year, has won a finals spot in the South Australian Telstra Business Awards for the second year in a row.

After record growth, the information security specialist is a finalist in the Panasonic Business Award category, for organisations with from 20 to 50 employees. Last year, CQR Consulting won the MYOB Business Award, for businesses with fewer than 20 employees. CQR also received the top honour as the Telstra South Australian Business of the Year.

CQR Consulting has grown strongly in the past year, with many new staff joining its team, which has led to a three-fold expansion in the size of the company’s Dulwich head office. CQR Consulting has also expanded its national operations by opening an office in Melbourne in addition to its existing presence in Sydney.

Earlier this year, CQR Consulting was again included on BRW magazine’s Fast Starters list, which recognises it as one of the top 100 rising new companies in Australia.

CQR Consulting managing director David Simpson said the company was using its strength in Australia to generate international business opportunities. “We are increasing CQR’s share of interstate and international markets,” he said. “Winning the Telstra Business Award for SA last year assisted us with increasing our visibility as a successful business.”

CQR Consulting www.cqrconsulting.com delivers independent information security services, without the need to sell computer hardware, software or other technology services. The Australian-owned company, based in Adelaide, provides an “honest broker” for organisations often caught between the competing claims of incumbent vendors.

The Telstra Business Awards will be presented at the Adelaide Hilton Hotel on August 14, recognising the achievements of South Australia’s brightest business lights. CQR Consulting is one of 17 finalists that will compete for the State Awards, with the winners to represent South Australia in the national awards later in the year.

Now in its 15th year, the Telstra Business Awards (formerly known at the Small Business Awards) recognises and rewards the ingenuity and innovation of Australia’s most outstanding businesses. With each passing year, the awards have grown in both size and stature, with its logo representing a symbol of business excellence.
